Why Oak Kitchen Chair?

From year to year I see less oak kitchen chairs and other wooden chairs in furniture stores and magazines and this is sad. Modern style dictates to purchase metal kitchen chairs with usually poor design and comfort though metal kitchen chairs have longer life if comparing to oak chairs. We forget, that the more natural furniture incuding kitchen chairs there is in our houses the best is not for our ow comfort but also to our health. As we all know that synthetic materials (like plastik kitchen chairs or metal chairs with non-natural backs) are way less healthy for us than traditional kitchen chairs made of wood like oak. The sad thing about natural oak chairs is that if you want to buy one, it might be a tough task to find one or order. In some cases you would need to order a wooden kitchen chair directly from the manufacturer like I did and this is not cheap, believe me, but in the end I have recieved 5 wonderful venice style wooden kitchen chairs made of natural oak.

Oak Kitchen Chairs
It is hard to tell why kitchen chairs made of natural oak are more popular than other wooden chairs but it is a fact that most of retro kitchen chairs and modern kitchen chairs and tables are made of solid oak. It is commonly believed that solid oak chears are of the highest quality and longest durability no matter whether you use them as your indoor kichen chairs or outdool dining chairs - solid oak chairs will remain of highest quality for years and years. My mother is still using old wooden chairs of her grandmother when I have already ordered a second complect of modern metal chairs (old ones were braking easily)

Metal Kitchen Chairs
I am blaming metal kitchen chairs because my own experience with venice-style kitchen chairs was very negative. We have ordered those chairs for the first time from the company which manufactured our kitchen. While the kitchen was of the highest quality, the metal kitchen chairs that costed about $80 per unit have shown to be very unreliable. We have broken two chairs in the first year of usage :( We have ordered the new metal chairs for our kitchen just a few months ago and it is still to early to comment on the quality of these shiny white chairs with metal legs and soft tan seat pads.

Swivel Kitchen Chairs
Swivel kitchen chairs is that kind of chairs that you want to have but you know that for your flat it is not wise to buy such chairs due to several reasons (they take a lot of space, they are usually hard to move, they tend to bent other kitchen furniture when turning from side to side). It is like a sports car with a big engine that is powerful and fast and you would love to have on but your wife tells that is is not money-wise to buy a car with such high fuel consuption and loud exhaust :) Well, we all like those swivel kitchen chairs from childhood but this kind of chairs is more suitable for bigger houses, not small flats like mine where ever square meter counts. If you have a house and a huge kitchen with lots of free space then swiver kitchen chairs might be your best choise especially if you have kid - kids just love those swiveling chairs.

Wooden Kitchen Chairs
I have talked more about oak wooden kitchen chairs because there are most popular where I live and people tend to believe that wooden chairs can be only oak chairs - but this is not true for sure. Wooden chairs can be also made partly or solid from Splint, ash, oak or hickory strips even strong grasses or heavy paper. To my mind any of those above mentioned natural products is far better that any synthetic material like plastic or synthetic leather. If you want the wooden chair to look stylish like those modern chairs then try to find and order something unique like wooden kitchen chair with wooden back, soft seat pads and metal legs or other combinations of wood and leather, maybe even metal. However keep in mind that any plastic chairs are less healthy than any natural wooden kitchen chair.
